The Wausau Daily Herald highlights some of the real life stories behind voter ID, including an 84 year old woman who now needs an ID to vote but never has needed one before. The article quotes Andrea Kaminski, executive director of Network partner League of Women Voters of Wisconsin, who says that this is not an isolated incident.

The Wausau Daily Herald followed up this article with an editorial speaking out against voter ID. The article quotes Jay Heck of Network partner Common Cause in Wisconsin, saying that while many states have voter ID laws, Wisconsin’s is “by far the most restrictive.”

Meanwhile the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel is also covering the difficulties some citizens are having as they attempt to get IDs for voting that they did not need before. For some citizens, multiple trips to the DMV are required to get an ID. Two groups in Wisconsin, the NAACP and Voces de la Frontera, plan on filing suit against the voter ID law.
