Ohio papers highlight redistricting reform
The need for redistricting reform in Ohio has come to the forefront, and more Ohio based newspapers are beginning to take notice.
The Dayton Daily News highlights the work of Network partners in the League of Women Voters of Ohio and Common Cause Ohio, who are preparing a Constitutional Amendment to put on the ballot this fall. Secretary of State Jon Husted is also quoted in the article as being supportive of changing the redistricting process.
Over in the Toledo Blade, the paper’s editorial board has spoken out in favor of redistricting reform. The editorial mentions Network partner Ohio Campaign for Accountable Redistricting as well as the new lawsuit brought by the state Democratic Party against the Republican Party’s drawing of the districts this time around.
