Nonprofit VOTE study shows nonprofit impact on 2010 turnout

Nonprofit VOTE, in conjunction with a selection of nonprofit organizations in Michigan, has released some new statistics and information on nonprofit voter engagement.
In a study conducted during the 2010 midterm elections, Nonprofit VOTE studied the impact of nonprofit outreach to clients about voting. The results showed that clients contacted multiple times about voting were more likely to vote than those who were not contacted at all. Nonprofit VOTE concludes “the level of effort nonprofits invest in their voter engagement work is important—greater efforts can lead to higher turnout—and that allocating resources to these activities will bring a civic participation ‘return on investment.’”
