Wisconsin Democracy Campaign asks for investigation into Supreme Court Justice

Network partner Wisconsin Democracy Campaign has asked the state’s Judicial Commission to investigate state Supreme Court Justice Michael Gableman to see whether he violated the state’s code of ethics. Gableman received free legal services from the firm that represented him against a prior ethics complaint in 2008. That firm, Michael Best & Friedrich, has also appeared before the state Supreme Court nine times during Justice Gableman’s term on the bench. According to the state ethics code, judges cannot accept gifts from anyone who is likely to appear before them in court.
