Panel to discuss Ohio Sunshine Laws March 18

COLUMBUS, Ohio—The group’s “Right-to-Know Symposium” will be held on March 18 to educate the public about Ohio’s open records and open meetings laws. Earlier this week, the Money in Politics Project issued a letter to the state’s director of the Department of Transportation asking for a response to a three-month-old records request.

Panelists include Fred Gittes, attorney and open records advocate; Frank Deaner, executive director of the Ohio Newspaper Association; Catherine Turcer, director of Ohio Citizen Action’s Money in Politics Project; and Gary Daniels, associate director, ACLU of Ohio.

The event is co-sponsored by the ACLU of Ohio, Ohio Citizen Action, the Ohio Coalition for Open Government, and the Ohio Newspaper Association.

This event is free and open to the public.

The symposium takes place Wednesday, March 18, 2009 - 3:00 p.m. at the Columbus Metro Library Auditorium (96 S. Grant Ave., Columbus 43215).
