Network partner opposes changes to Wisconsin disclosure law

Network partner Wisconsin Democracy Campaign has come out in opposition to Senate Bill 292, which is currently making its way through the Wisconsin legislative chambers. The bill would change the state’s disclosure law so that individual donors giving more than $100 would no longer be required to disclose their employer.

On their blog, Wisconsin Democracy Campaign noted that campaign finance criminal investigations would be made more difficult, as employee disclosure helped convict two large donors on money laundering charges. The changes to the law “would blind voters to the financial interests of campaign donors” said WDC executive director Mike McCabe to the Wisconsin Radio Network.
