Indiana legislature unveils legislative agendas for 2012

Indiana Republicans will push “right to work” legislation in the upcoming year,  the party said in presenting their legislative agenda for 2012.  Unemployment rates in Indiana have been increasing, and Republicans believe that this legislation will “remove the final barrier” to job creation. Indiana Democrats oppose the “right to work” legislation and have not ruled out leaving the state, a tactic they employed during the 2011 session. Democrats have also unveiled their agenda, which includes banning contractors from making political donations, giving local businesses preference in state contracts, and tax credits to help small businesses create jobs.
